There's a hymn that say begins "Time is filled with swift transition, naught of Earth unmoved can stand." Summer has swiftly gone, though El Niño is taking charge of the weather patterns. One day we were dancing on H. Street in the warm sunshine and then boom, Autumn said "I'm here! Now get inside!"
The leaves are changing. The days are shorter and the nights are longer. For some it's the beginning of SAD Season, while others are festive. Maybe you'll find balance in the disturbance of your circadian rhythm. However there is a bright side or maybe a ....dark side!
This is that special time of year for horror fans across the land! That's right SPOOKY SEASON! HALLOWEEN TIME! It's the perfect time to hibernate with snacks, wine, cannabis, and some good soul ripping, gut wrenching, horror movies! Spirit Halloween has sprouted in our favorite abandoned store and the imagination runs wild with costume ideas.
While the introverts embrace the indoors and limited social activities, the adventurous extroverts and some introverts might hit up a haunted trail or a haunted house. There may even be parties galore. There is still some joy to be had!
Even though fascism is giving us one hell of a time, Autumn 2026 is one of resistance. There is the essence of midterm elections and pumpkin spice across America. The fight begins for a new day for all US citizens.

Tuesday. Another work day. I breezed through my morning routine with enough time for some pre-work self-care.
A walk through the garden eases my mind while natures morning choir enchants my soul. The end of Summer Sun peeks from behind the clouds as she makes her grand entrance to work. I can’t tarry too long as I must summon my chariot.
Oh sweet peaceful Uber ride. I settle into the quiet, pondering over today’s “to do list.” Thankfully my anti-depressant is doing her job and regulating Queen’s Landing as I make it to the metro station.
Finally I’ve made it to the train just in time. May this ride be peaceful. May this day be peaceful and new opportunities find me.
